Autumn Winter 2017 Inspiration

Oba AW 2017 draws inspiration from the loose shapes of traditional ethnic clothing of the Saharan regions of North Africa while highlighting the alluring, enigmatic sensuality of the woman.

This concept is brought to the forefront in oversized, drapey cuts that envelope the body revealing slight hints of skin or form but always in a very subtle and elegant manner. Couture techniques, ubiquitous in Oba collections, make an appearance in the smart contrast grosgrain ribbon finishes on all the seaming and as a design detail throughout the line. Utilitarian fabrics such as bonded neoprenes make an appearance in structured trenchcoats with signature concealed pocket detailing and functional touches such as removable hoods.

A serene, muted color palette permeates the line featuring mostly greys, navies, and blacks with a focus on textures of the fabrics such as luxurious jacquards and sumptuous suedes.

An effortless collection, Oba continues its’ quest to create sophisticated yet functional pieces that complement the lifestyle of the contemporary woman.
